One of the absolute biggest mistakes that new kayakers make is choosing to start in a slim, sleek and sexy kayak. The sleek kayak is produced for speed reality can provide many exciting thrills individuals also typically very jostled and jerked around. For a new kayaker this means usually rolling head first into drinking water.

Beginner’s Error.
I took a friend out paddling one time many back. We were in Deep Cove in Vancouver, B.C. and rented kayaks for day time with our destination as being a little island not too much out. I kayaked often times before but for my friend it was his period. Being his period out and being an athletic connected with a guy, he wanted the fastest boat usable. Within minutes I had covered a reasonable distance and realized that my friend was nowhere in picture. After a quick panic sensation I soon burst into uncontrollable giggles since i realized that his kayak had rolled and all I often see was his head bobbing in the. Laughing so hard I could barely paddle I watched as a speed boat came to his rescue, hauled his embarrassed butt into their boat and helped him to obtain the water out of his raft.
Although my friend’s kayaking experience proved not to a good one, it was by far one of the funniest kayaking trips That i have ever had. His deflated ego paddled drenched onto our destination where we then switched kayaks. He then paddled the beginner kayak back to shore absolutely no other problems.
His mistake though quite normal for occasion kayakers also can be harmful. Though I any great laugh out of it, to be frank it perhaps have been dangerous and disastrous had buddy hurt himself or been somewhere where help had not been close just.
Lesson come to understand.
The lesson was definitely learned for example. as an amateur kayaker it can be not was required to be quickest boat in water. The trick is to get a stable kayak and learn the basics before you move on for the speed.
